DIG is the annual conference for publishers and media-tech startups in Portugal. As partners of this second edition, we attended the event with eight of our portfolio teams and enjoyed sunny Cascais during three intense days of workshops and networking.
Here our highlights:
Sabela García Cuesta and Julia Mandil, from the NMA team, hosted a workshop exclusively for startups. The idea was to create a space to share experiences and learn from others. “When to kill your startup or when to pivot?” “Should startups offer unpaid pilots to publishers or not?” “Product first or investment first?” “Who to contact within a media house to arrange a collaboration?”. During this session, the founders had the opportunity to share their best practices in the relationship between media houses and startups.
Aiconix, one of the NMA startups from batch 6, Got the prize to the most innovative startups attending DIG this year. Congratulations!🎉 What does Aiconix exactly do? Aiconix capitalizes on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in the field of video optimization.
At NMA we have been working hard on expanding our European and international network and it was great to meet at DIG one of our partners from The Netherlands: Media Matters. Bert Kok and Rick van Dijk hosted a workshop for scale-ups in the media-tech industry where both startups and publishers could take back home very relevant learnings. One tip from our side: Keep an eye in their MatchMaking days!
“Stop selling, start offering solutions”. — Bert Kok.
And this is not all, before the end of the year you can still find us at several events around Europe: Medien Tage in Munich, WebSummit in Portugal and Slush in Finnland. Keep posted here.
